The event took place on Sakasagawa Street as part of the Kamata East Exit Oishi Michi Project, an area management initiative through street space. In 2023, the Sakasagawa-dori area was again the venue for the event, with special shops set up by popular local restaurants, and a storytelling programme was also held. Kitchen cars, live music, tables for dining and lawns also appeared on the street.

The Kamata area is expected to undergo a complete change of scenery and scent in the near future, with the recent announcement of the Ota Ward Rail Line Town Development Draft Plan for the opening of the new airport train line, and the refurbishment of major buildings. Under the event theme of ‘Stories Spun on the Road in a Changing Town’, Ryu Suzuki curated a series of dance performances in Kamata by three dance artists, Mariko Kakizaki, Bala and Haruka Wakuta. They interviewed locals to create their performances which were inspired by the way the city and its inhabitants seem to be a single living organism, and to change with the passage of time.

The event was an extraordinary opportunity for the visitors to fully enjoy the current breath of the city of Kamata all five senses.
